Born in London in 1924, Tony Lewis had a diverse journey that led him to become a celebrated watercolourist. After serving in the Royal Navy during World War II, he ventured into the world of advertising, working in Bristol, London, and eventually settling in Auckland, New Zealand in 1963.

In 1975, Tony transitioned to a full-time painting career, focusing on watercolours. His talent quickly gained recognition, leading to numerous solo exhibitions and teaching engagements across New Zealand. He became a sought-after judge for art awards and even participated in prestigious international exhibitions like the 1996 Asian Pacific Watercolour Exhibition in Taiwan.

Relocating to the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Tony's artistic journey continued to flourish. His works, characterized by expertly handled tonal values and serene compositions, garnered widespread acclaim. In 2007, he achieved a pinnacle of success, winning the best of show at the Brisbane Rotary Exhibition with his remarkable watercolour "Old Yandina Homestead."

Tony Lewis's legacy extends beyond borders, with his paintings cherished in private collections across New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the USA, England, and Japan.
