Peter Whelan

Peter Whelan (born 1939) is a Sydney-based Australian painter who studied at East Sydney Technical College and was later tutored by landscape artist Alan Fizzell. He paints primarily in oils and acrylics, with Australian landscapes, Sydney Harbour scenes, coastal headlands, wooden boats and marine subjects as his main themes.

Whelan is a Fellow and Council member of the Royal Art Society of NSW and an exhibiting member of the Australian Society of Marine Artists. Over more than thirty years he has undertaken regular painting trips across NSW and interstate with fellow professional landscape painters, and continues to exhibit actively
