Ron Van Gennip is an Australian impressionist painter known for his harmonious, graceful, and elegant works. Born to artistic parents who emigrated from Holland to Sydney, he was encouraged to explore art from a young age amid the scenic Blue Mountains. At 18, he received a scholarship to Sydney Technical College and later worked for 12 years with a commercial art firm while studying under Joshua Smith at the Drummoyne Art Society.

Van Gennip eventually shifted his focus to fine art, drawing inspiration from the Golden Era artists, Streeton and McCubbin. His impressionist paintings, known for their gentle eloquence and poetic beauty, often depict children and nature with a timeless, nostalgic quality. Over his career, he has exhibited widely, including in Hong Kong, Japan, and London, and has collaborated with artist Robert Hagan. His work continues to delight and inspire, reflecting his deep connection to the natural world and its serene beauty.
