Alan Grosvenor
Alan Grosvenor, born in Sydney in 1925, was an Australian landscape artist. He studied both in Sydney and England before settling in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, an area that deeply inspired his work. Grosvenor’s art, primarily in oils, captures the dramatic and rugged beauty of the Snowy Mountains high country, reflecting his intimate connection with the landscape around him. He spent his later years in Jindabyne, working from his studio at the Kunama Snowy Mountains Centre for the Arts. Today, this centre continues to support the arts, exhibiting works from various artists, sculptors, and authors. Grosvenor’s legacy endures through a permanent exhibition dedicated to his paintings, allowing visitors to experience the vivid landscapes he brought to life. He passed away in Cooma in 2012
