Pamela Fairburn
Pamela Fairburn is a Sydney-based watercolour and mixed media artist with more than forty years of experience in the visual arts and art education. She studied at Alexander Mackie College of Advanced Education (later COFA) where she gained a Bachelor of Education in Art, and returned to postgraduate study in 1986, completing a Graduate Diploma in Professional Art Studies at the City Art Institute, Sydney, where she studied under Colin Lanceley.
Her work is expressive and semi-abstract in character, with a particular interest in experimental techniques combining watercolour, gouache, collage, wax encaustic and mixed media on paper. Her subjects focus on landscapes and still life, drawing inspiration from her extensive travels. She has led painting tours to locations including France, Portugal, Nova Scotia, Sicily, Fiji, Norfolk Island and the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Fairburn teaches from her studio in Longueville, Sydney, and has been involved in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Her paintings are held in private collections in Australia and overseas. For buyers of new paintings Pamela Fairburn has a website at www.pamelafairburnart.com.au
