Pat Murphy

Pat (Patricia) Murphy is an Australian oil painter born in Holbrook, NSW. Her interest in painting developed while living with her husband and four children on a property near Binnaway in rural NSW, and it was this direct experience of the bush that shaped her work. She paints primarily in oils, with Australian rural landscapes as her main subject — river scenes, pastoral vistas, old gold mining towns, Blue Mountains bush, and the Hunter Valley.

Murphy is a member of the Ku-ring-gai Art Society and has held group and solo exhibitions since 1980, including shows at the Boronia Gallery Sydney and the Noella Byrne Gallery. She regularly paints on location with fellow artists, seeking out subjects across regional NSW and beyond. Her work is held in private and corporate collections in Australia and overseas.

She is listed in Max Germaine's Artists and Galleries of Australia and his Dictionary of Women Artists of Australia.
