Ronald Peters
Ronald Peters (1937–2003) was an Australian oil painter active from the 1960s through to the 1980s. He lived in Bundanoon, NSW, and was a founding figure in Sydney's western suburbs art community — he was the first president of the Bankstown Art Society, established in 1958.
Peters worked primarily in oils, with Australian rural and bush landscapes as his main subject. His documented subjects show a particular affinity for the Blue Mountains and surrounding region, including Katoomba, Hartley Vale, the Jamison Valley, Cox's River and the South Coast. He also painted street scenes and figurative subjects.
His work has an impressionistic quality, characterised by confident brushwork and an observational approach to the Australian landscape.
