Richard Chamerski

Richard Chamerski (1951–2022) was an Australian oil painter working in the tradition of the Heidelberg School of Australian Impressionism. His subjects ranged across Victorian landscapes, coastal scenes — particularly around Portsea, Mornington Peninsula and Mount Macedon — and river scenes including the Yarra and Campaspe. He worked primarily in oils on board and canvas.

Chamerski was also a popular teacher, conducting workshops and producing instructional material on plein air and studio painting. His approach combined on-location studies with finished studio work, consistent with the Heidelberg tradition he admired
