I believe this may be a slight typographic error made at the time of framing (or reframing) and that James Robert Hutchings (1868-1942) is the most likely artist. This work is well executed and completely in keeping with Hutchings style. The place of painting in Blue Mountains is in keeping with other works of similar type he did in the region. The picture and frame are in impeccable condition. The rear label also indicates a previous retail price of $375. I will stay close to this price although with full authentication I believe it would fetch more.
