Robert Wilson, born in 1942 in New South Wales, is a renowned Australian landscape painter. Raised in the scenic Towac Valley near Orange, Wilson is largely self-taught, though he studied under noted artists Arthur Murch and Henry Hanke at the Royal Art Society. His career took off with his first solo exhibition in 1971, and since then, he has held over 40 one-man shows across Australia.
Wilson's work focuses on capturing the beauty of the Australian landscape, especially the outback. He has been an artist-in-residence at Ayers Rock and served as Art Director aboard the Norwegian Star cruise ship. Beyond painting, Wilson taught at the Mitchell School of Creative Arts for 20 years and is a sought-after art judge. His work is internationally recognized, with pieces in collections across the USA, Europe, Japan, and Korea. Wilson continues to paint and exhibit, dividing his time between travel and teaching.
