Norman Robins, born in Germany in 1914, migrated to the UK in 1939 and served in the British Army. After the war, he worked as a commercial artist in London before moving to Australia in 1955. He exhibited his works in Melbourne and Sydney, gaining wide recognition for his individualistic style. Robins' paintings, characterized by a heavy impasto technique, reflect his European heritage and are often reminiscent of German Romantic painting.
