Wagga-born Heather Anne Bell (1936- ) like very many successful artists is graduate of East Sydney tech. Unlike many more impressionistic artists of her generation she produces carefully drafted, highly Realist works in acrylics or watercolour. Bell's work is characterised by its use of bright, bold colors and strong lines. She often works in acrylic paint and uses a layered technique to create depth and texture in her paintings. Bell's subjects are often drawn from the natural world and she is particularly known for her depictions of Australian flora and fauna. She has exhibited widely in Australia, most recently at the Riverina Gallery.
