Nola Tegel is a name intimately intertwined with the artistic heritage and chronicles of the Macarthur region. Hailing from Camden and often traversing new horizons in her quest for inspiration, Tegel's roots trace back to her schooling at Campbelltown High School (now Campbelltown Performing Arts High School). Her life's journey has been a relentless pursuit of honing her artistic craft, which led her to collaborations with luminaries like Barbara Romalis in Wedderburn and her role as a founding pillar of the Camden Art Group under the tutelage of Alan D. Baker. As a resident deeply ingrained in the local fabric, Tegel has borne witness to the metamorphosis and myriad transformations of Campbelltown. In 2018, Tegel was entrusted with a private commission to fashion 60 artworks for an exhibition that reverberated with the historical essence of Maryland Homestead – an architectural relic from Bringelly dating back to 1820 -1850. Subsequently, in 2020, the C-A-C (Campbelltown Arts Centre) tapped Tegel's prowess to orchestrate a series of paintings that immortalize fragments of Campbelltown's past within an ever-evolving landscape. Tegel's masterful portrayal of Campbelltown's essence, tinged with her personal recollections, captures the artist's profound connection to the familiar vistas she portrays.
